Sustainability and environmental responsibility are now central to their choices. \u201cTransparency is no longer just a material, it\u2019s the lens through which owners experience the sea,\u201d<\/em> said Carlo Nuvolari<\/strong>, emphasizing how advanced glass enables seamless indoor-outdoor living and bold, modern yacht design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shipyards adapting:<\/strong> Antonio Santella<\/strong> highlighted how younger owners are pushing for yachts that reflect responsibility and respect for nature<\/strong>. \u201cThey are rethinking traditional luxury habits, sometimes even choosing trains over private jets to reduce their footprint,\u201d<\/em> Santella noted. \u201cThis challenges us to deliver yachts that align with their values while still providing unforgettable experiences.\u201d <\/em>Santella also noted that this transformation adds complexity to yacht construction, requiring early collaboration with designers and suppliers to balance innovation, compliance, and performance. \u201cIt\u2019s about translating bold visions into reality,\u201d he said, \u201cwhile ensuring safety, efficiency, and a responsible approach to how these yachts are built and operated.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regulation as progress:<\/strong> Lorenzo Pollicardo<\/strong> explained that regulation, shaped by public opinion, is increasingly a driver of change. \u201cEven though yachting represents less than 0.1% of global CO\u2082 emissions, public perception drives significant pressure for action,\u201d<\/em> Pollicardo said. \u201cRegulation is no longer just control; it\u2019s a platform for innovation, pushing us toward higher standards and greater alignment with society\u2019s expectations.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovation as a Catalyst for Sustainability: Elisabetta Poli<\/strong>, R&D Director at Isoclima, emphasized how glass innovation has become central to both design and sustainability \u201cAdvancements like chemical-strengthened glass allow for larger, lighter panels and seamless, frameless designs that improve performance and reduce energy use,\u201d Poli explained. \u201cBeyond beauty, today\u2019s glazing integrates functional coatings for solar control, privacy and acoustic comfort.
