One of the most common variations is tempered glass, which undergoes a rapid heating and cooling process, creating a surface tension that makes it up to five times stronger than standard glass. If broken, tempered glass shatters into small, blunt fragments, eliminating or minimizing the risk of injury. Another form of safety glass is laminated glass, made up of two or more layers of glass joined by a plastic interlayer. Furthermore, in the event of breakage, the laminated glass remains anchored to the interlayer, preventing fragments from dispersing and guaranteeing an additional level of safety.
