The prestigious award, which every year the Indiana section of SAE International, together with IndyCar Series technicians, assigns to technological solutions that improve performance, driver-supporting equipment and safety or energy efficiency of racing cars, was awarded to the engineering team that designed and built the Indy Aeroscreen.
The project, coordinated by Red Bull, and developed together with Pankl, Dallara, Aerodine Composites and PPG, allows to ensure greater safety for NTT IndyCar Series drivers, thanks to an aeroscreen cockpit protection device capable of withstanding a 1 kg projectile launched at over 350 km/h. Specifically, the ISOCLIMA team, led by Marco Bertolini, developed and built the windscreen and designed the composite chassis to be mounted on the car.
It is a great satisfaction for us to be part of such a prestigious group and we express our gratitude for the award received. IndyCar Schwitzer
