Venice, September 16, 2025 – Today, in the presence of Luca Zaia, President of the Veneto Region, Isoclima Group and the Helicopter Division of Leonardo signed a strategic agreement marking Isoclima as the first Italian company to participate in the “Crescere Insieme” program. Launched by the divisione Elicotteri di Leonardo, the initiative aims to strengthen the national aerospace supply chain and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers in strategic technological areas.
With the support of the Veneto Region and the Regional Innovative Network (RIR) AIR, the project was initially presented to Veneto-based companies on 4 July 2024 in Venice. This collaboration has paved the way for Isoclima to become the first company selected to sign an agreement for the development, certification, and production of a highly advanced transparency system.
A High-Tech Project
The agreement covers the development, certification, and production of advanced transparencies for two of Leonardo’s main helicopter platforms, the AW139 and AW189. These solutions will be entirely designed and manufactured in Italy. Isoclima will leverage its deep expertise in materials and technologies developed over more than fifty years, reinforcing the national supply chain and establishing itself as a center of excellence and innovation in the aerospace sector.
The know-how developed by Isoclima, combined with targeted investments in cutting-edge technologies (including the largest chemical tempering plant in the world at its Borgo Veneto facility), has allowed the Este-based company to become a trusted partner for demanding clients not only in aviation but also in yachting, supercars, armored vehicles for law enforcement, and security architecture.
Strategic Investments for Veneto and Italy
To achieve this milestone, Isoclima has launched a €2 million investment plan aimed at:
- Obtaining EASA certification for aircraft glass approval;
- Developing dedicated tooling and production systems required by the industrial partner;
- Acquiring high-tech equipment and materials, increasing efficiency and environmental sustainability;
- Conducting advanced tests under critical operational conditions to ensure safety, reliability, and performance of components.
This project is part of Veneto’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), creating value through industrial innovation, sustainable growth, and collaboration between companies, universities, and research centers. The initiative will have positive impacts on skilled employment, regional competitiveness, and the international reputation of Veneto in aerospace, security, and advanced mobility sectors.
Isoclima’s Vision
“This agreement reflects a shared vision of excellence and innovation,” said Liviana Forza, CEO of Isoclima. “Our deep expertise in materials and use of cutting-edge processing technologies allows us to develop solutions of the highest technological content and precision. Through this initiative, we strengthen the industrial supply chain and foster the growth of a center of excellence that positions our region and Italy at the forefront of aerospace innovation.”
“Crescere Insieme”: a More Resilient and Competitive Supply Chain
The “Crescere Insieme” program focuses on key technological areas, mostly related to critical supplies known as bottleneck items. The initiative aims to bring over €1 billion per year of these components back to Italy, with demand expected to grow by 25% over the next five years.
The operational model is based on Joint Development Plans, which include:
- Technological support and testing activities by the divisione Elicotteri di Leonardo;
- Facilitated access to aeronautical qualification processes;
- Public and private co-financing;
- Certifications such as EN9100 and PART 21G/J.
Through this agreement, Isoclima and the divisione Elicotteri di Leonardo contribute to creating an integrated and cutting-edge national supply chain, supporting the growth of a competitive, resilient, and sustainable industrial ecosystem capable of facing global challenges and bringing Italian innovation to the world.
